Google doesn't prefer gray hat SEO techniques because they can still violate Google's guidelines and lead to penalties. But some user practices it. Here are some of them:
1. Link Building : While buying links or participating in link schemes is against Google's guidelines
2. Guest Blogging :Guest blogging can be a gray area. If done solely for the purpose of acquiring links without providing valuable content, it can be seen as manipulative.
